Training Philosophies
Training for excellence in sport requires attention to detail.  Each athlete must be analyzed to determine their strengths & weaknesses in addition to the specific demands of their sport and position played. This individual analysis plays a big role in injury prevention.

Training athletes is a specialty within the personal training industry. Traditional weight lifting approaches do not necessarily lead to gains in athletic performance, and in some instances may even reduce speed and agility. We use a sport specific training approach to allow for functional strength and power gains.

Nutrition and recovery are not optional, and are as important as the training itself. Although supplementation can be helpful, we believe that nutrition should consist of learning about proper eating and manipulation of the diet rather than relying primarily on supplements.

Our training philosophies have been influenced primarily by research in the strength and conditioning industry and by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, which is a world leader in the application of science to sport. We consistently update our training programs to reflect what has been scientifically proven to improve athletic performance. We have had success training for strength, power, conditioning, foot speed and balance in National and Provincial level curlers, running athletes and soccer players, all levels of hockey from NHL & WHL through to Midget and Bantam age players, a variety of soccer teams including Brandon’s premiere soccer teams, the Brandon United Cougars, and with swimming athletes from the Brandon Bluefins Swim Club.
